[00:00:00] Speaker A: You're listening to the message podcast of High Ridge Church, Longview, where our vision is to help, you know, God, find freedom, discover purpose, and ultimately make a difference. We are so glad that you're here, and we pray that this message impacts your life as you apply the spiritual truths from God's word in practical ways.
[00:00:18] Speaker B: Let's listen in. Thank you, everybody. Hey, welcome to church. I want to look right in that camera right there and say, hey, welcome to everybody watching online. Come on, High Ridge family. Give a big, warm round of applause. Hey, how you doing?
For those of you that are sick at home with the flu, we're gonna believe God for healing. Right now, everybody and their brother has the flu. So I was sitting with my doctor the other day. I got my. My yearly stuff done, and I said, do I need to get the flu shot? She said, you just had the flu. I'm like, I forgot, but thank you, Lord. It was a mild one. She's like, yeah, you just had that. I think you're gonna be fine. So praise the Lord for that. I am so excited to preach the word this morning, and even though I'm preaching hurt, I'm preaching hurt and sad because of Luca. For those of you that are not Dallas Mavericks fans, you don't understand, but what in the world?
Let's just take the next service. We're gonna fast and pray for our beloved Mavericks. This ain't the way, people. This ain't the way. And then we. Oh, gosh, we got the cowboy situation. How am I supposed to even preach today?
How do I do this between the Mavericks and the Cowboys, then I gotta watch the Eagles and Chiefs. Don't come at me. I don't want to see that. Watching the super bowl for the commercials this year. Come on, somebody pray for me.
This is a tough season anyways. Genesis chapter four is where we're going to spend our time today. Genesis chapter four. As we're turning there, I wanted to say thank you for being an amazing, generous church. We are able to do a ton of stuff not just around the world, not just on the Mission Field to the forest reaches of the world, but we're able to do a lot of stuff right here in this city. I believe that God put us in this city for the sake of the city. And if a church is not making impact right here at home, you got some questions to answer. We ought to be alike to our city, and I believe that God has put us here for a reason to leave Longview. Better than what we found it, and it was Interesting that this past week we were honored by our Longview Chamber of Commerce at their big annual awards ceremony. We were honored with their Community Impact Awards. I want to show you some video of that so you can see I ain't lying. But all of our movers and shakers from the city were able to just get a chance for us to sit there in front of us, say, High Ridge is doing something right. We care about the city. It matters. And so to be able to be in the room and tell people like, we're in the city because we care, and we're honored to be able to serve this city in whatever way that we can do that. So thank you guys for your support. Thank you for your generosity. It is such an honor to be able to do great things for the kingdom because God's people are giving. Let me say thank you for that. Genesis, chapter four. We're going to move on with our series called First Things First. Say that with me, if you would. First Things First. We're setting up the year in our theological study by making sure that we honor what the Lord says to honor first. When Jesus says, seek ye first, he means that when the Bible talks about praying first, when the Bible talks about devoting things first to the Lord, that still applies to us. First matter to God. I want to make sure that you see that. First matter to God. Would you say that with me? Firsts matter to. To God. It matters to God. And so we see that from Genesis all the way to Revelation, he said, I'm the first, I'm the last. At the beginning of creation, Jesus talks about, you know, through the Father and through the Word, what is so important to the Lord. And it always revolves around what was done first. Our God is a God of order. And if we're going to set up this year to be more than just another year, it's important that we pay attention to what matters to God first. First matter. And as the great theologian Ricky Bobby said, if he ain't first, you last. Come on, somebody. Genesis, chapter four. I want to show you this. We're going to pick it up. In verse one, says, Adam made love to his wife Eve. I want to apologize for a PG13 message. And she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. Cain is the firstborn son of Adam and Eve. He's the first.
And she said this. With the help of the Lord, I have brought forth a man. I always thought it was interesting that she didn't say, I just brought forth a male child. She said, I brought forth a man. I wonder if maybe the first time that, that Eve ever had a child, if God was like, we should probably make them in child size and not full grown man size. Remember this is the very first one. Maybe babies were underneath £10. From there on, because God had mercy, he didn't give birth to a full grown man.
But she says, with the help of the Lord, I've brought forth a man. Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks and Cain worked the soil. The first two, first two jobs were farmer, rancher. And it says this in the course of time, Cain brought some. Somebody say the word some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. Notice the word some.
And Abel also brought an offering, fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. I love it says fat portions. The fat belongs to the Lord. That's Leviticus, that's Genesis. From the beginning to the end. Fat belongs to the Lord. Don't worry about it. It's not mine, it's his.
But here's what's important. I want to make sure that you see this. It says, the Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering. But on Cain and his offering, he did not look with favor. There's one that says, God says, I respect that, it's acceptable to me. And the other, God says that that's not going to cut it. Something's wrong. Notice one brings the first, another brings some. One is working the land and producing vegetables and fruits and things that he could grow. And the other one is raising livestock. But one brings the first, one brings some. It's the very first offering ever recorded in Scripture.
It says this. God looked with favor on Abel, but on Cain and his offering, he did not look with favor. So he, Cain was very angry and his face was downcast. Your Bible might have that word. His countenance was downcast. If you're a new, new, new King James Version. Maybe it says face, maybe it says countenance if you're a King James Version only. But it says, obviously there's a look on his face of, of great anger. And by the way, notice this is the first time anger enters the world. Now, we've had embarrassment, we've had sin, we've had shame, we've had lying. But until this point, we've never had anger.
And anger enters the world over an offering.
So Cain was very angry, his face was downcast. And the Lord said to Cain, why are you angry? What is wrong with your face?
Why is your face downcast?
And I love this part, the Lord says, if you do what's right, will you not be accepted? Or just. Just do. Do what's right? Do what I ask you to do, and I'll accept it. You didn't do that. So obviously the Lord had a conversation with him about what was right and what was not right. He's like, why are. Why are you mad? I told you what to do and you didn't do it. Why are you downcast? If you do what's right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, notice this sin is crouching at your door.
It says it desires to have you, but you must rule over it. I believe that those words are not just spoken to Cain that day, but they're spoken to us as well. When God talks about what it means to have something that's acceptable to him, the Lord says, there's going to be an emotional response. You're going to have to rule over that. You got to get control over that. Because if you don't, there's a sin issue. It's crouching right there.
So when we talk about first things first, we're going to go to the very, very first offering, the very first time that people brought something as a gift to God. And I think it's important that we look at first, because first are significant not only to the Lord, but to us as well. I would venture a guess that you probably remember your first bike.
You might remember the first time you were lied to or betrayed by somebody that you thought wouldn't do that. You probably remember the first fight you got into. Other than your siblings.
Hopefully you remember your first kiss or your first date.
In my mind, when I go back, I remember specifically my first car.
Now, long before I was driving the first car that I actually paid for, I was driving my mother's VW Bug. And that little bitty tiny box of death was the very first time not only that I drove a car, but that I had severe anxiety because that thing had a stick shift.
And you have. If some. Boom. You. If you've never driven a stick, you don't know anxiety until you are stopped at a red light on a hill and somebody pulls right up on your bumper. In that moment, you will plead the blood. You will go right into the holy of holies. Your walk with God becomes really, really strong because you're looking in your rearview mirror thinking, okay, I've got to remember all the different steps of getting my foot off the clutch and onto the brake as fast as I can. Then pressing the gas at the same time, putting it into first and hoping that you don't put it into third gear.
You put it into third gear, let off that clutch, and the whole thing just blah, blah, blah. And then people start honking at you. Then it just, you know, you just melt down and start crying. Just get out of the car and start walking home like, I'm done. I'm out. It's too much. And for those of you that have ever had to drive a stick, you remember the. The first time that you were ever stuck on a hill with somebody right behind you brings up a ton of anxiety. And I remember that first car.
Now, for my sister, my older sister, when she was 16, she saved up some money. She was working at Walmart. We weren't raised as a very wealthy family at all. We were raised with very, very limited resources. And so when she finally got her car, it was a big deal. We'd all pile in the car and let our older sister take us down to the store and we'd, you know, buy a little nutty bar or whatever we could afford. And we called her car the Flintstone car. And that was because the floorboard was missing.
Like, you had to, like, pick up your feet. You couldn't put your foot on the floor, but there's nothing there. Like, you put your feet out and you're stepping on the road. So that's why we call it the Flintstone car. It's like, hey, if this thing ever just stalls, you could just push it and stay inside, seated.
You could literally see the road from the floorboard. And so the only person that could rest their feet on anything was the driver on the gas and the brake, because there is no floorboard, but it's what we could afford. But I remember that car more. And you've had different cars in your life, and some of them stick out in your mind of, that was a great car, that was a fast car. That one looked really, really good, or that one was really, really powerful. But that first one sticks out of your mind because firsts are significant.
Firsts are significant. And when we look at the very first offering, it matters to us and it matters to God. There's a reason why God records this story so that we see what happens inside of each of our hearts as we prepare to become givers. At some point as believers, we transition from just being consumers to contributors. And as we transition in, that's in that season of maturity of walking from just give me, give me, give me God to Lord, I'm going to give you something back. It's important that you realize that there's some, there's some great critical things about giving that God wants us to know.
Here's what we know. Number one, if you're a note taker, you might want to write this down. Number one, my giving face matters. Notice the question to Cain here was, what is wrong with your face?
He brings the offering and God says, no, no, no, no, that's not right.
And notice the immediate response. I don't have to have much more description of what his face looked like to know exactly what it looked like. Because if you've ever raised children, you know what happens the first time they don't get their way? The first time that they did something. You're like, no, no, no, that's not right.
You ever raised one of those kids that was, that was perfectionist, that had to have everything right? It's normally the firstborn, but the first time that they get something wrong, they all have the exact same look. The same look you had. The same look I had. It doesn't matter if it's English speaking children, American children, all the way around the world at any point in history, every child that ever got something wrong, that ever didn't get their way, we all have the exact same face. That lip comes out, the eyebrows go down, they cross their arms and stomp.
My mother would say something, boy, you better tuck that lip back in before I walk on it. I'm not sure what that meant, but I didn't want it to happen. I believed her.
What is wrong with your face? But that was the look when you didn't get what you wanted, when it didn't work out, when your will got crossed.
The look is universal. The first thing that God says is, what is wrong with your face?
What are you doing?
And it says that Cain burned with anger. The original language is the Hebrew word korah, which means to inflame.
Something's burning on the inside.
It's the very first time that anger, real anger, enters when God says, that's not right. That's not what I ask you to do. You're given with the wrong attitude. And I think some of us still deal with that today. When we recognize that there's a maturity level that the Lord wants us to walk to.
And when, anytime, when financial things begin to test the limits of our heart, there's an emotional response. We see that giving money to God has always been an emotional test and it will always be. And God says, you're going to have to conquer that.
He says, and if you don't, there's. There's sin. It's right at the door. It's crouching. Here it comes. Now. The good news is God gave him a do over. God says, if you do what's right, I will accept you. Let's try again. Come on.
The bad news is, did he take it? No.
And just a few short verses later, he kills his brother. So it goes not just from sin, but to anger and from anger to murder. Eventually, we get to the place where the world has gotten so evil that God says, I'm just gonna wipe out the whole thing and start over with a man named Noah. We'll try again.
Sin has entered the world as an emotional response to an offering. My giving face matters. Our attitude towards giving must be conquered. God speaks it to Cain. He still speaks it to us. It's something that you're going to have to fight through.
The good news is, God will never tell you to do something where he won't empower you to be able to do it. But it's a matter of trusting him.
My giving face matters. It matters the attitude in which you give.
The apostle Paul backs this up in Second Corinthians, chapter nine, when he says, God loves a cheerful giver. If you've ever studied the original Greek, behind the word cheerful, it's the Greek word hilarious, which, it's not hard to determine what exactly that means, but the Lord says, I like it when you come with joy. I like it when you recognize that it's a joy to be able to do this.
I don't know about you, but I've had a hard struggle with that in my own life. I'll give because I know it's the right thing to do. I'll give because I know a pastor's supposed to. But when you give me the attitude test, I don't do so well with that all the time. I've generally found that there's two types of givers. There's the wow givers. Then there's the how givers.
Let's just do this. Cause God is awesome. Wow. And the other people are like, wait, wait, wait, wait.
How?
You have the wows in your house. And generally they marry each other.
They find one. Another one is like, let's give it all. The other one's like, whoo. Mm, mm. Can we. Can we. Can we talk to someone first?
My attitude matters.
God says, I want you to do it with a great attitude. Your face matters. Here's the second key that we see from Genesis chapter four, when it comes to the very first offering number two, giving in faith matters. Giving in faith.
There are multiple references in scripture, but it talks about the faith was the difference between Abel and Cain.
Giving in faith matters.
Now, it's interesting that when we think of one was a farmer and one was a rancher, and one brought the first and one brought some, I can't help but think, you know, like, lord, you rejected that offering. Why? Is it because, you know, is it because Cain brought you, like, the worst of vegetables? Did he bring you, like, kale and radishes and turnips, which people act like they love and they really don't? They're just lying to themselves, like, no, you don't. No, you don't. Yes, you don't. You don't understand. I make the most amazing radish sandwich. Gross.
But it's proof that God loves barbecue. God is not a vegan.
Let that speak to you today.
But is it just because he brought some of the, like, the vegetables? He's like, yeah, I like corn, and I like the potatoes. Those are really, really good. I like the carrots. Not. Not too bad. I'll even like the broccoli. God, I'm gonna give you the, you know, the radishes there. You can have those. The turnips. Have all you want. Lord, I'm giving you all of the best of my turnips. Giving you the radishes.
Is that the reason why?
But think about it a little bit, a little bit further than that. It says, he, He. He gave some. The other one gave the first. But how would they know at the beginning of all creation that what they were giving to God would be provided for in the future. Notice that we, in hindsight, can look back at all of creation and say, you know, if you. If you plant a seed, you're going to reap what you sow. That's the law of the harvest. But they didn't know that they were going to have to depend upon the provision of God and take God at his word.
And when we give in faith, that's essentially what we're doing as well, learning how to honor God with the first and best. Says, Lord, I believe that in the future, you're going to take care of me. Giving in faith matters to God. Hebrews chapter 11 backs this up. It says, by faith, Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith, he was committed as righteous when God spoke well of his offerings. And verse 6 says, because without faith, you're not going to please God. It takes faith for God to say, I accept that because you're stepping out in faith to do it. You gave me the first, not knowing that there would be more. You took me at my word. Instead of just bringing some just in case God doesn't come through, I'm gonna keep the best for myself, keep the first for myself. Okay, I had a little bit extra. Then I'll give that to the Lord. No, no. Giving in faith matters. You're giving face. You're giving faith matters to God. You see, giving in faith means I believe God will always take care of his own. And if I am his own, God is obligated to take care of me.
Here's the third and final point. I want to leave you with number three. Giving the first matters.
Giving the first matters. And this is a personal challenge that I've taken, is not to just give. And it's not a percentage, in my opinion. It's the attitude in which we give, and it's honoring God with the very, very first of what I might. So me and my wife had taken this challenge that before we pay a single bill, before I pay the house payment, before I pay this, before I pay that, nothing ever gets taken out of my account, before I honor the Lord first.
Because I believe this, I believe that first matter, and I give God the first and the best.
Here's what we know from scripture, is that Cain brought some, Abel brought the first. Now, there are some situations where the first is a bad idea. When kids come to ask you, can I have a drink of your drink? The first. That's not a good idea.
We give kids the leftovers. And then when they say, here, you can have this back. It's yours now.
And those of you that have never had the privilege or joy of being a parent, you don't understand.
When the kids are thirsty, you're like, hold on.
Okay, get the last. You can have the rest.
Because I don't want it back. Once they've had it. Kids get whatever's left, but God gets the first. So how would they know that the first matters? God must have instructed them. God must have told them what he wanted. Because he says, if you do what's right, if you do what I told you, if I do, if you do what's right, I'll accept you. God wouldn't have been able to correct him if God wouldn't have never given him the rules.
He said, you're angry, but it's not because you didn't know. You did know. You chose not to. And many of us, that still kind of defines our relationship with the Lord. It's not that you don't know the right thing. You just choose not to do it. So I can't be mad at God when he corrects me. I recognize that, Lord, you told me what to do. You told me what was right. Did I do it? Not so much. But giving the first matters to God. We see in scripture that there's a big difference between some and first.
There's a big difference between some and first. Now, as we're looking at the very first offering, I think it's important that as we scan ahead in time, just a few. A few more years, we see the very first altar that was ever built. And by the way, this is built by a man named Noah. The Bible says that God saw the world get more and more wicked. He finally says, you know, Noah, it's just going to be you and your family. We're going to make a boat, and I'm going to flood the entire Earth. It's going to rain and rain and rain. And Noah's like, what's rain?
He looked like an idiot until it started raining.
God told him to put the animals on there two by two. And when all of the world was wiped off the planet, when everything had passed away and. And was gone, when the rains receded, Noah was left once again to start over.
And he builds the very first altar. I was looking at that and said, you know, what does. Does. Does Noah give the first? It doesn't really say the first. It says the sum. No, Noah gave some. Look at this in. In chapter eight of Genesis. Then Noah built an altar to the Lord. And taking some of all the clean animals, notice it's the. It's the ones that God said, these are holy. These are the clean ones. He sacrificed the burnt offerings on it. Then the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, proof that God may be a Texan.
And God said in his heart, never again will I curse the ground because of human. So God was pleased.
God gave a promise, but Noah gave some. I think it's interesting that it uses the word some, but until you realize that there wasn't a whole lot of animals to choose from, and I think we could even see in this story that God accepted some because it was the first.
Now, as I wonder, you know, like, okay, Lord, you had the animals go on the ark two by two. I remember that when I was little in Sunday school, you know, here comes these animals and these animals and these animals, two by two. And then what animals did he offer to the Lord? Because they're kind of hard to replace after this, right? So I'm like, well, it must have been a unicorn and a pterodactyl.
Can you imagine in that moment? Like, what am I going to sacrifice to the Lord?
Unicorns, Lord. You get unicorns, Lord. That pterodactyl, that's all yours.
But there's a big difference. And please hear me. There's a big difference between a grill and an altar.
Now, I love the fact that we live in Texas and we take our grilling seriously. And let me just tell you, if you're a transplant to Texas and you say, hey, come over to my house, we're going to be grilling, you got to have more than hot dogs. Please hear me. I love you. I'm your friend. But if you're going to be grilling out and you have hot dogs, I ain't coming.
You get one pass and that's it.
Grilling out means minimum hamburgers. Now, if you bring me to your house, oh, we grill these amazing vegetables. M.
I'm ordering Papa John's, and all your friends will. Will choose a slice of pizza. Like, don't do that.
But there's a big difference between a grill and an altar. And I want to make sure that you see this. We place things on a grill for us to consume. We place something on an altar for God to consume. That's what's his. We take our hands off of it. Lord, I'm not cooking something so that we can enjoy this together. This is yours.
Let it be a pleasing aroma to you. So let our gifts to God be for his glory, not for ours. And Jesus seconds this when he talks about, hey, when you're given, like, that's not a public thing for everybody. That's between me and you. And I want your attitude to be right. I want you to do it as an act of worship back to the Lord. So if you're within the sound of my voice today, if you have a relationship with Jesus, if you're a believer, at some point, you're going to be maturing towards becoming more than a consumer. You are a contributor, and it matters in the way that you contribute to the Lord. There's going to be an emotional response to your giving as you mature. And for some people, just the thought of giving anything back to the Lord, it triggers an emotional response. The Lord is like, you're going to have to. Have to roll over that.
For some of us, we're thinking, how, how, how, how Am I going to do that? I get it. I understand.
But when you start giving in faith, recognizing that I don't have to have the answers, I have to trust the one that does, something begins to switch inside of your heart. We start depending upon the Lord to take care of you.
And so we've learned this beautiful, beautiful process by which the Lord says, this is what I'm looking for. People that trust me, people that will give because it's a joy to give. I want to challenge you to not just be. Not just be givers, but to look at the way that you do give. Here's my challenge to you. Give the first. Give in faith and give with gratitude.
Give the first before you pay anything else. Give God the first that matters. Give in faith and give with gratitude. As I. As I started learning this lesson early on in ministry, I had to be confronted. I had to have pastors sit down and talk with me about this issue inside of my heart. Because I grew up in churches where people did stupid things with money. And it got out. And after a while, I was like, why would I ever give? Because I know what people do. And I allowed that people's response and people's foolishness to stir up an emotional response in my own heart.
And the Lord began to deal with me like, it doesn't matter what they do, it matters what you do. This is between me and you. Let me deal with them. You let me deal with you. And I recognize that just like Cain, the Lord says, there's something crouching right there. It's an emotional response. You're gonna have to rule over that.
And so as I learned how to give with the right attitude, I began to pray, and I wanted to share the kind of the prayer that I pray. When I did, when I determine that I'm going to give at the first of every paycheck, when I honor the Lord first, this is kind of my prayer. And so I want to share this with you. In case you're ever wondering how do I really have the right attitude? This is what I do. I pray this, Lord. It's my joy to give because I'm deeply grateful for the ways that you have taken care of me and my family. And I trust that you always will use this gift to further your mission and let it be a blessing to those that it reaches. That's my prayer. I wanted to share that with you as you continue to mature in the Lord. I'm believing that this year is going to be the greatest year that you've ever had. In your relationship with the Lord. Lord, let this not just be another year, but a year that you draw close. A year that you look directly at your life and say, lord, what are the parts of my life that are not lining up with your word? Because I want to lay those at your feet and trust you with what's coming. I don't want just another year. I want the best year of all that you have for me. I want a relationship with you that matters, that's real, that I can depend on. Help us to do that. And I want to remind you that first matter. Can you receive that? Everybody, I wanted to speak really quickly to those that might be watching online if you enjoyed what you heard today, if you feel like our world needs to hear this, and it's always a huge honor and a blessing to us when you share this with your social media friends. Every single week, we are blown away with how far the gospel is able to reach and the people that are responding to. We've had people that have never set foot in this church that have received the gift of salvation from Christ. And it's a wonderful, beautiful thing to take and redeem that instrument that you have right there in your hand or the television that you might be able to watch this on and say, I want to use this for God's glory. Your reach matters. So when you click that little arrow at the bottom, when you click the share button, it matters a ton. I want to just say thank you for doing that. And then for everybody else, I want to ask you, would you go ahead and bow your head and close your eyes as we just kind of ask the Lord to speak to us today about this area of our hearts. It might be a good time to get a little spiritual checkup, a financial checkup.
What I like to do is just simply say with my hands open, Holy Spirit, what are you saying to me, Lord? How's my attitude towards giving?
Lord, have I been hurt in this area? Have I lost trust? Have I lost faith in this area?
Because I want. I want to ask you to help me with this. Lord, I never want money to sit on the throne of my heart. Lord, that's your spot. I never want to be in a place where I feel like I'm my own provider. I have to make ends meet for myself. Lord, I want to trust you and trust that you are Jehovah Jireh, the God that provides for me.
So Holy Spirit, would you come? Would you speak to me? Speak to my situation. Help me, Lord, to trust you more.
Father, would you Speak to my friends. Would you encourage them? Would you bless them? Would you strengthen them? Father, I pray that you would help marriages to grow together as they begin to give together and submit this part of their marriage to you.
Lord, I pray for those that have never, ever been able to do this. Lord, I pray that this would be the year, this would be the season where you walk them into this area of maturity.
Lord, I pray for those that have been hurt.
I pray that you'd begin to heal hearts and wounds from the healing that can only come from you.
Lord, we give you our past. We give you our wounds today. We ask for help.
We thank you for providing for us. You always have. We know that you always will.
In Jesus name, with heads bowed and eyes closed, today, perhaps you're here, maybe even watching online, and you would say, pastor, I don't really have a relationship with Jesus. I. I need a relationship with the Lord. Maybe for others. You're saying, pastor, I need to come home. I've been away from God for so long. I need to come home.
Well, my friend, I'm not here to embarrass you in any way, but I want to give you the same opportunity that someone gave me one time.
I want to lead you in a prayer. And if you want a relationship with Christ, or if you need to come back to him, let me help you with this prayer. With heads bowed and eyes closed, would you pray this prayer with me? Just say, jesus, believe you're the Son of God. I believe that you love me.
I believe that you came and died.
I believe you rose from the grave so that I could have life and forgiveness for my sins.
I ask you to take over my life.
I ask you to forgive me and I give my life to you right now.
Thank you for what you did for me.
My friend, if that was your prayer, just those of you that prayed that prayer with me, would you look up at me and would you slip your hand up, say, that was me? Pastor, I did. I prayed that prayer with you. That was me. Good. For those of you watching online, type that in the chat, if you would as well, we'd love to hear from you.
There's a number appearing on the screen that you're watching, even the screen behind me as well. I want to invite you. If you prayed that prayer, would you text the words I prayed to that number on the screen? And if you do that, I'm going to send you the link to some things that I prepared just for you. It'll help you understand what just happened and what to do next. It's the greatest honor of my life to help people know Jesus better. Good for you. Proud of you. For everybody else, go ahead and look up at me if you would, and let's stand to our feet together. I'm going to invite our elders and their wives forward. And as the service ends today, these guys are going to be available to pray for you and whatever needs that you might have. If you're watching online, you have something that you're needing help with, something that you need prayer about, go ahead and type that in the chat, if you would. We'd love to pray for you as well.
And as we're finishing up the service today, we're going to fast and pray for a better Super Bowl.
I love all our Chiefs fans. They're living their best life. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We love you guys. Whatever. There's a time in the 90s where we were with you, the good old Cowboys days.
We have good old day syndrome around here. There was a time. There was a time. No. For everybody else, let me pray for you and bless you as you go. Father, would you bless my friends with an incredible week? Would you continue to watch over them, bless them, help them, provide for them in every way as we trust in you in Jesus name and all of us said together, Amen. God bless you as you go. I hope you have an awesome week.
